Tattoo Aftercare
-Follow the directions below in order to ensure proper healing-
- Wash your hands thoroughly using fragrance/ dye free liquid antibacterial soap.
- Remove your bandage within 2-3 hours. There will be a goo-like residue on your tattoo and on the bandage; this is completely normal as it is a build up of blood plasma and ointment that was applied prior to be being bandaged.
- Wash your new tattoo with fragrance/ dye free liquid antibacterial soap (Dial is recommended). Gently pat your tattoo dry with a clean paper towel. DO NOT use a bath towel or any other sort of fabric towel.
- After washing your tattoo and it's dry, apply a small amount of either Aquaphor or A&D ointment. DO NOT use Vaseline, Neosporin, or any other petroleum based product.
- Repeat steps 3 & 4 for the next 4 days doing so TWICE a day.
- After 3-4 days the tattoo will begin to itch, flake, & peel- this is completely normal and part of the healing process. It is imperative that you DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH the tattoo. Any damage caused to the tattoo due to improper aftercare will NOT be covered for touch ups.
- After the 4th day, STOP using ointment. Continue to wash the tattoo as needed but do not over wash. After washing, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion such as Aveeno or Lubriderm. Avoid lotions with any fragrances, dyes, or additives. Continue using lotion the next 14 days.
